Ikea opens the search for its new marketing manager in Spain after the departure of Gabriel Ladaria

The departure of Gabriel Ladaria from Ikea to ING is beginning to materialize in the structure of the Swedish company. After almost two decades in the organization, the manager has communicated through a post on Linkedin the opening of the process to cover the marketing direction in Spain, a strategic position in one of the most relevant markets for the brand in Europe.

Thus, it was Ladaria himself who shared the opportunity through his profile on the professional social network, highlighting both the team and the dimension of the role. “A very competent, autonomous team, easy to work with where the best of all is that they are very good people and fun. A role with real impact on business, brand and transformation”he pointed out.

The position is being offered under the title of Country Marketing Manager and will be located in San Sebastián de los Reyes. The application submission period will be open until April 24, 2026.
Ikea emphasizes that this is a position with direct responsibility for the definition, implementation and optimization of the marketing strategy in Spain, in a context marked by the evolution of retail, digitalization and the advancement of omnichannel.

The deadline for submitting candidatures will be open until April 24, 2026

A key role in the evolution of the omnichannel model

The company is looking for a profile with consolidated experience in marketing management in large-scale or complex environments, with the ability to lead senior teams and manage multiple stakeholders. Beyond technical expertise, Ikea focuses on the ability to translate the strategy into tangible business impact, combining brand building, commercial activation and short and medium-term performance.

Among the responsibilities of the position are the definition of the marketing strategy aligned with business priorities, the management of advertising investment with efficiency and return criteria, and the coordination of all points of contact with the client to guarantee a coherent and integrated experience. The role also implies a strong connection with key areas such as e-commerce, retail, customer experience or communication, reinforcing the need for transversal leadership.

Likewise, the company highlights the importance of in-depth knowledge of the consumer and the competitive environment, as well as the ability to convert data into strategic decisions.

The opening of this vacancy occurs after a stage marked by the consolidation of Ikea’s omnichannel model in Spain, promoted in part under the leadership of Gabriel Ladaria. During recent years, the company has reinforced its presence in new channels, exploring formats such as live shopping and developed initiatives aimed at expanding its customer relationship ecosystem, such as the renewal of Ikea Family or the promotion of the second-hand market with “Preowned”.

These initiatives have contributed to reinforcing the brand’s value proposition in the Spanish market, where Ikea has worked to be increasingly closer to the consumer, both in physical and digital terms. The company has defined its ambition in this regard with a clear objective: to be accessible in less than 30 minutes on foot, 15 minutes by motorized transport or through its digital environment.

In this context, the new marketing manager will take on the challenge of continuing this evolution, consolidating the brand’s positioning and reinforcing its relevance in an increasingly competitive environment.
