One more year, the Scalpers Christmas Ad created by the VML agency. The first installment was “Rebel is Born”, an advertisement that asked about the real meaning of Christmas, paying homage to the greatest rebel in history: Jesus Christ. The following year, the agency created “Noche de amor”: a campaign that continued to build in the territory of rebellion, inviting the audience to procreate in the face of the urgent need for more rebels to be born in the world to transform it for the better.
This year VML has opted for a new campaign titled “The Kings of the Night”which relapses into that spirit of rebellion and irreverence that characterizes the brand, and has done so by putting the three great icons of Christmas in Spain in the center: the Three Wise Men. But they take advantage of the night of January 5 to go out partying, putting aside their mission for a moment and, when the time comes, they resume it by going to a brand store to get the best gifts.
“Working with a brand like Scalpers that makes rebellion its flag is a breath of fresh air for creativity”comments Sergio Villarrubia, Creative Director at VML.
The result is a campaign that vindicates the meaning that these dates have for Scalpers: living in the present, breaking with expectations and escape from established norms. “Our Christmas campaign reflected in this new spot is not just a celebration, but an authentic manifestation of what the brand represents: creativity, authenticity and emotional connection”adds Francisco Gutiérrez, Managing Brand Director of Scalpers.
The brand thus demonstrates that it continues to flee from fashion communication and the Christmas context to talk about authenticity and claim their own meaning of Christmas.
Produced by Plaza by Little, the ad was launched on its digital channels on December 22 and will run until Twelfth Night.
