The video clip for “Berghain”, from Rosalía’s latest album and produced by Canada, has won one of the two Grand Prix awarded in the Entertainment for Music category at Cannes Lions 2026.
This award, beyond recognizing the creativity of the piece, the Catalan singer and the producer, has greater implications for the advertising sector of our country. And it is the fourteenth Grand Prix of Spain in the International Festival of Creativity and joins a list of great awards in the contest that has not been updated since 2024.

In addition, it is the first Grand Prix that our country collects in Entertainment Lions for Music, a category that was launched in 2016 and which was the first specialized discipline to become independent from the original Entertainment Lions. Their mission, as explained by Cannes Lions, is to celebrate the established and constantly evolving role of music in creative campaigns, recognizing how it has become an integral part of storytelling in various media.
The section thus joins the list of those conquered by Spanish creativity over the years, and which demonstrate the diversity and versatility of the talent and creativity of our country. Spain has won Grand Prix in Outdoor, Creative B2B, Luxury or Film, among others.
Here you can consult all the Grand Prizes that we have won in previous editions of the Festival.
The video for “Berghain”, the first song released by Rosalía for her album “Lux”, marks the first Grand Prix at Cannes Lions for Rosalía. However, the Spanish artist is no stranger to collecting trophies at this festival. It already did so in the 2023 edition and also in the Entertainment Lions for Music section, thanks to the digital experience “Rosalía Motomami Live Experience on TikTok”. He obtained a Gold Lion, a Silver Lion and two Bronze Lions.
It tells the story of a woman in the process of grieving as she fights to heal her broken heart.
Likewise, it is also the first Grand Prix at Cannes Lions for the production company Canada, although it has already seen its work recognized in previous editions of Cannes Lions. In 2025 he obtained a Bronze Lion in the Film Craft section for “The cause of the accident that caused the fire”, the short film created for the ICEX as part of the campaign focused on promoting talent and creativity in the Spanish audiovisual sector.
Precisely in this category, Film Craft, Canada has achieved five Lions in the 2026 edition of the contest, for the “No project without drama” campaign, an idea by the Heimat TBWA agency for the German brand Hornbach and which was produced and directed by the Spanish production company.
The video clip for “Berghain”
The video clip for the song “Berghain” was released on October 25, 2025 as the first preview of “Lux”, Rosalía’s fourth studio album. On the song, which is named after an emblematic nightclub in Berlin, he collaborates with the Icelandic singer Björk and with Yves Tumor, the stage name of electronic music producer Sean Bowie. Three languages are used in the topic: Spanish, English and German.
Thus, “Berghain” tells the story of a woman who goes through a grieving process as she struggles to heal her broken heart, and in the end finds comfort and healing through her spirituality. What seems like a routine scene, with Rosalía arriving home and getting comfortable, quickly turns into a musical maelstrom with the presence of a symphony orchestra that plays passionately and a choir that accompanies the artist’s songs wherever she goes, from the doctor’s office to the bus ride.
The video transforms the everyday into the surreal and, towards the end, the narrative delves into a fairy tale universe that accompanies the part played by Björk, transformed for the occasion into a bird. Rosalía, for her part, appears dressed as if she were Snow White. All of this is combined with dreamlike black and white images that generate stroboscopic effects.
The creative direction of the video clip corresponds to Rosalía herself and her sister, Pilar Vila.
The creative direction of the video clip corresponds to Rosalía herself and her sister, Pilar Vila. It was filmed in Warsaw and directed by Nicolás Méndez, Co-Founder of Canada. The director has previously collaborated with Rosalía in the making of video clips for other songs, such as “Malamente” or “Pienso En Tu Mirá”, also produced by Canada. It has Metropolitana in post-production.
The Grand Prix collected by “Berghain” in this edition of Cannes Lions expands the journey of Canada’s work on the international circuit of both creative and musical festivals. The piece has been recognized in recent months at the Shark Awards, the Hollywood Music Video Awards, or the D&AD, and is nominated for the Creative Circle Awards.
Matt Murphy, Global Chief Creative Officer of 72andSunny and president of the Entertainment Lions for Music jury, explains that the jury focused on those proposals capable of generating relevant connections between culture, music and communication. “In the end it all came down to the level of commitment to the idea”says Murphy. Regarding “Berghain”, he highlights that it is an extraordinary piece from a visual and sound point of view. “A true feast for the eyes and ears, capable of integrating classic and contemporary, fantasy and reality”he expressed when justifying the granting of the Grand Prix to the work starring Rosalía.
