A young man’s passion for potato chips unleashes a particular love story in the new Pringles advertisement, created together with the creative agency BBDO New York. The brand continues to explore consumers’ devotion to its snack in a fun advertising campaign that is part of the long-standing platform “One you pop, the pop don’t stop.”

Pringles presents an unconventional love story starring a lonely young man who takes his predilection for Pringles to the limit by using the brand’s potatoes to build his new romantic interest, whom he nicknames Pringlelina. What starts as a whim quickly turns into a full-blown romance that includes bike rides and candlelit dances.

The campaign is a continuation of “Pringleleo,” also created by BBDO New York for Pringles for this year’s Super Bowl ad breaks. That spot starred the singer Sabrina Carpenter, who also created her own ideal couple based on her passion for the brand’s snacks.

“Each person finds love in a different way. Some swipe. Others pile up”commented Dan Kelly, Executive Creative Director of BBDO New York, according to Little Black Book. “Building a salty soulmate with potato chips connected with Pringles fans, and now the snack love story continues”.

The campaign includes a series of short pieces for social networks and digital platforms that delve into the relationship of love, passion and desire between the young man and Pringlelina, in a parallel between consumers and their taste for Pringles.
All the pieces have been made by director Thomas Ormonde, through the production company ProdCo.

The strategy behind the campaign seeks to bring the “Once you pop” platform closer to new generations of snack consumers, something that the brand hopes to achieve by continuing to develop its distinctive personality and resorting to humor. The brand’s message seeks to convey that opening a can of Pringles can unlock a world of delicious possibilities, including your next love story.
