An Alce, a jaguar and an eagle will be the official pets of the FIFA 2026 World Cup. They represent, respectively, to Canada, Mexico and the United States, the countries that will host the International Football Championship, the first whose organization is awarded three different countries.
As explained by FIFA, pets have been created to give life to cultural wealth, legacy and spirit of each host nation, and to convey a message of union, diversity and passion for the most popular sport in the world. Its objective will be to transmit joy and emotion and motivate fans to approach and be part of the tournament.
Thus, football followers will be accompanied by Maple, the Canadian Alce; Zayu, the Mexican Jaguar, and Clutch, the American Eagle. “These three pets are an essential element of the festive atmosphere that we are creating for this historic tournament, and I am convinced that the affection of the fans of North America and the entire world will be won”, Said Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, in a statement.
The organization has not only been responsible for creating an attractive and fun appearance for pets, but also endowed them with differentiated personalities. In this way, he points out that Maple is passionate about urban art, music lover, and stands out for its creativity, resilience or leadership. For its part, Zayu, whose name means unity, strength and joy, is characterized by promoting Mexican culture through dance, gastronomy and tradition; While Clutch has an insatiable spirit and a curiosity without limits, and embodies energy and determination.
FIFA has focused on making pets connect with new generations, such as lever to attract young people to football. In this sense, Maple, Zayu and Clutch will be incorporated as interactive characters in FIFA Heroes, a new video game developed by Inver in collaboration with Solace that will arrive on the market next year.
The video game offers an arcade football experience with fantasy elements. Players can form teams with official pets from different editions of the World Cup, as well as with great soccer stars and characters from popular series and movies. The game will be available in 2026 for Android, IOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox.
In addition, FIFA will also include pets in Super League Soccer, the experience it provides in Roblox. As part of this entertainment, it will include various challenges focused on the skills of each pet on the field of play and thematic rewards.
Beyond the digital plane, pets will also be part of the face -to -face experience offered in the different venues of the tournament, receiving and accompanying fans in the stadiums. They will also star in merchandising and official products that can already be purchased at the organization’s online store.
The 2026 World Cup will take place between June 11 and July 19, and will have the participation of 48 selections for the first time.
