Pepe Chamorro leaves Globant: “They have been wonderful years”

Pepe Chamorro has announced his departure from Globant, where he currently served as Executive Vice President of the marketing area of ​​Gut, a creative agency that the technology group acquired in November 2023. The manager became part of the company in 2021, when it joined the consulting firm specialized in digital marketing, martech and digital sales strategy Habitant, co-founded by Chamorro in 2014.

It’s been a really wonderful five years.“, expressed Pepe Chamorro through LinkedIn. “I arrived with Habitant and a team of 150 people, and I leave having participated in the construction of a global Marketing Services operation that today brings together more than 1,500 professionals within the Gut network.”.

The professional has taken advantage of the publication to review some milestones of this last stage; five years that, he assures, have been marked by the construction of one of the most ambitious marketing offers in the sector. After Habitant joined Globant, Chamorro was in charge of leading the creation of the Marketing Services Network within the company, a task that, as he explained, has been guided by “a commitment to competition in a market where the convergence of creativity, technology, data and content is no longer optional, but structural.”

Chamorro has led the integration of companies and capabilities within Globant

Chamorro has led the acquisition and integration process of five companies currently integrated into Gut Network -Habitant, Ad_bid, KTBO, Vertic and Gut- consolidating a global offering that now operates in multiple markets and disciplines.
Regarding this, he noted: “Each integration was, in fact, a master class in how to build a company, how to take care of a team, and how to defend a vision”.

He also promoted the launch of Adobe Studio at Globant, a division articulated around the capabilities of the Adobe ecosystem. “Above all, I worked on something much more difficult than growth itself: bringing coherence to different parts and turning them into a scalable marketing operating system.”said the manager.

In this sense, he assures that, under his leadership, Globant’s Marketing Services area has experienced sustained growth in recent years, both in size and strategic relevance within the company. He explains that this has been supported by three levers: the real integration between creativity, media, data and technology; the commitment to scalable production models (content supply chain); and the progressive incorporation of AI capabilities in marketing processes.

Chamorro has also expressed his gratitude to those responsible for Globant and the company as a whole. “Thank you for your trust, for the shared ambition and for these five years of journey. Thank you for believing in me and my team“, he expressed. “Few companies can combine the scale of Globant with the closeness, warmth and care with which you have treated me and all of us who work at Globant. I feel really privileged”.

Chamorro has not revealed what his next professional step will be. But he explains that “The current context asks me to look elsewhere and rethink what the sector will be like in the coming years.“. And on LinkedIn he has pointed out: “The next revolution is about to arrive”.

Three decades dedicated to marketing and innovation

Pepe Chamorro has more than thirty years of experience in the field of marketing, communication and business management. In 1996 he launched the D&G Comunicación agency, at the beginning of the digital industry; and four years later it became Digital Bates after being acquired by WPP, managing to position itself among the most prominent interactive agencies in the Spanish market.

In 2001 he joined 141 Worldwide as General Director, working for brands such as Telefónica/Movistar, Ballantines and Mahou. Between 2003 and 2005 he served as General Director of the Delvico agency, and later assumed the position of General Director of JWT Spain, which he held for more than eight years.

Pepe Chamorro created Habitant, an agency specialized in digital marketing

In 2014, together with Fernando Martínez-Corbalán, he joined the DDB Spain group to relaunch the specialized digital services agency Tribal, where he served as CEO for four years; and in 2018 it became Habitant, an agency specialized in digital marketing. This was sold in 2021 to Globant, and together with other acquisitions of the company, it gave shape first to Globant Create and then to Gut Markteing Services.

Thanks to his experience in the development of digital disciplines, Chamorro served as a jury on the inaugural Cyber ​​Lions panel at the Cannes Lions Creativity Festival in 2001, and that same year he chaired the Interactive Jury at the El Sol Festival in San Sebastián. In addition, he has been a member of the jury at national and international festivals, such as the Eficacia Awards.

Pepe Chamorro has also combined marketing with business management in other categories. He is co-founder – along with Guillermo Navarro, Jose Maza and the chef Rafa Margós – of El Paeller, a company that markets paellas and natural preparations.
