On numerous occasions, dogs eat more than they should, either because of their nature, a state of anxiety or due to ignorance of the owners. That is why, with the intention of promoting healthier eating habits, Pedigree Australia has designed a “Lies detector” necklace to help manage the amount of adequate food for each dog.
It is a pilot test that the brand of animal feed products has developed together with the creative agency BBDO COLENSO. The necklace is A sort of pedometer that records and measures the movements of dogs. It is connected, as indicated on the initiative’s website, with an application in which you can register the amount of food given to the CAN, as well as its characteristics and the daily calories appropriate for it.
The tool analyzes all the data and informs about whether it is possible, attending to healthy eating, giving more food to the dog if you request it or necessary to refuse. In addition, as the agency points out in a statement, it sends Notifications Throughout the day to remember good habits, such as not giving the dog the leftover toast of breakfast, because each intake counts.
The device has been presented at the Magazine Magazine “Today”, issued on Channel 9, and by Nathan Williams, an expert in behavioral therapy for dogs.
It has been created in collaboration with the Digital Innovation Agency Satellite New Zealand.
In this sense, the project seeks combat supercharging and overweight of animals. As transferred from Colenso BBDO, referring to a survey conducted by Pedigree, 76% of dog owners admit to giving their dogs extra food beyond their normal meals, which leads to 7 out of every 10 Australian dogs be overweight.
“The key to maintaining healthy weight in your dog lies in good nutrition and knowing the right amount”, Says Nicola Paroissien, director of Pedigree brand, in a statement.”‘Lie Detector’ is a fun way to help pet owners to control their dog’s weight, with the ultimate goal of sharing many more years together”
On the website enabled for the initiative, the brand offers a calculator of calories. Entering some data on the dog, such as size or weight, the tool makes an approximate calculation of recommended daily calories. In addition, the brand suggests some of its products that can fit into the animal’s diet.
“Dogs are always hungry. You feed them and then ask someone from the house to feed them again. It is something that all dog owners can identify ourselves“; Kimberley Ragan, creative director of the Colenso Bbdo group, in a statement.”With the lies detector, pet owners from all over Australia can finally be sure if your dog is really hungry, crucial information if you have a dog that needs to lose a few kilos ”.
The page includes a form to register and participate in the Pedigree Lie detector necklace test. Ensures that the chosen ones will receive the device as part of the Pilot program And they will use it before it is available to the general public. The brand notes that the pilot will last two months, with the possibility that it is expanded if Pedigree sees it convenient.
It also points out that the continuation of both the application and the necklace after the pilot test is not guaranteed.
The campaign is activated on April 4 and will have executions of influencer marketing, social networks and external advertising.
