At the end of last year the Chilean Food Innovation Company and the Latin American multinational of flavors and fragrances Cramer announced an association for the development of aromas through artificial intelligence. A year later, the company has presented its first experimental development to the market: a system capable of replicating people’s aroma to reduce pet anxiety.

The company’s artificial intelligence division, Notco IA, have created Best Friend aroma, a tool that allows generating personalized fragrances from the olfactory profile of each person. This is possible thanks to the possibilities of Giuseppe, the artificial intelligence of Notco, which has the capacity to identify the volatile compounds that make each person unique.

The owner’s smell can help reduce pet stress

The goal of Aroma Best Friend is to help pet owners in the management of their relationship with their animals. As explained by Notco, many dogs experience separation anxiety when their owners leave home, a situation for which many apply toys, sweets or training, although on many occasions without result. The smell, according to some investigations, can help reduce stress.

In this sense, Aroma Best Friend intends to bottling the aroma of people so that the dog can continue to feel the presence of its owner, even when it is not physically present. To achieve this, as stated The StableGiuseppe analyzes the molecules and key aromas that define the daily life of the person, from their food to their perfume, from their workplace to their way of moving around the city.

The development is presented with an audiovisual piece worked with the BBDO Chile creative agency. It introduces Billy, a mechanic who suffers from the anxiety that Bella experiences when he is working in the workshop. The video describes how through Guiseppe, Notco can identify elements that make up the aroma of a person to recreate it.

In the video the company encourages to register in a waiting list through the company’s website, in order to receive more information about the necessary steps to recreate its aroma.
As reflected in the video, Notco’s intention would be to market each person’s aroma in small boats to be used in diffusers.

The initiative relies on the aforementioned alliance with Cramer that, as noted a year ago, would result in the development of a generative the AI fragrance formulator. “The generative AI has been used mainly in the creation of images, videos and texts, but in Notco we are taking it further, generating emotions through odors”; Said Karim Pichara, co-founder and Cto de Notco.”Thanks to the experience of Cramer and our AI perfume, it is possible
