The Chilean food innovation company NotCo and the Latin American multinational of flavors and fragrances Cramer have teamed up to develop aromas through artificial intelligence. The alliance represents NotCo’s incursion into the cosmetic sector and the diversification of its business model, as well as the productive evolution for Cramer, since technology will reduce the times of product creation and launch.
The collaboration translates into the development of what they call Generative AI Fragrance Formulatora tool based on Giuseppe, NotCo’s artificial intelligence, to come up with new aromas and fragrances in a matter of seconds. This is a process that can usually take weeks, but will be significantly speeded up thanks to AI.
“At NotCo we have taken AI to a new space”
“At NotCo we’ve taken AI to a new space: creating new con fragrances in seconds!”, expressed Karim Pichara, Co-Founder and CTO of NotCo, in a LinkedIn post. “By combining Cramer’s fragrance expertise with Giuseppe, our unique artificial intelligence platform, we are enabling brands to create expert-quality, personalized fragrances more efficiently than ever before.”.
As stated The Thirdthe partnership combines Cramer’s experience in creating fragrances with the advanced technology by NotCo. In this way, you will take advantage of Cramer’s database, which includes thousands of formulas for its flavors and fragrances, to feed Giuseppe so that he can generate premium aromas in a faster and cheaper process.
According to the aforementioned media, NotCo has already tested thirteen different formulas created by its AI, which have been reviewed and approved by Cramer’s experts, corroborating the possibility of creating these products by reducing human intervention in the process.
As NotCo explains, the technology allows the fragrance information to be processed from the molecular information until the sensory description of the aroma. Thus, it is possible to develop aromas from abstract concepts and emotions, such as the smell of Christmas, the sunset or a sunrise in spring.
The company assures that it already has three patents that have resulted from the application of this methodology. In addition, both companies point out that they are already working on bringing the technology to the market and establishing alliances with big beauty brands and personal care to personalize products.
“Generative AI has been used mainly in the creation of images, videos and texts, but at NotCo we are taking it further, generating emotions through smells”; Karim Pichara commented. “Thanks to the experience of Cramer perfumers and our AI, it is possible to create fragrances in a matter of seconds, which previously took months”.
“We are proud to be at the forefront of developing new products, exploring innovative technologies that will allow us to continue making a difference in the sector.”; Cramer has commented, also on the professional social network.
