A rescue sequence, a kiss scene or a dramatic dialogue. Sometimes, there are certain parts of series and movies that remain etched in our memory and to which we return from time to time to relive them. It is an act that now Netflix facilitates through its new functionality, called “Moments”, and that allows its subscribers save, relive and share favorite scenes of the contents of its catalog.
Moments is a new feature available in the Netflix mobile app for iOS devices and in the coming weeks also for Android. As the platform explained in a statement, those who wish to save a scene must click on Moments at the bottom of their screen and the system will automatically save it to the My Netflix tab.
In addition, the company ensures that the saved scenes can be accessed at any time, and when you watch the episode again, it will begin playing directly from the marked scene. Likewise, the functionality also allows share the scenes directly on Instagram, Facebook and other social platforms from the Netflix app.
In this way, Netflix concentrates greater subscriber attention on its application and stops traffic that can be directed to other video platforms. And it is common for the fans of series and movies make compilations of scenes of their favorite characters or plots and publish them in spaces like YouTube or Vimeo. With Moments Netflix concentrates the reproductions and views of its content in its own ecosystem.
Netflix itself, and other streaming services such as Prime Video, faced with this practice of viewers, have chosen to do his own compilations, or highlight popular scenes, in videos published on their own official accounts.
The launch of the functionality coincides with the launch of a global campaign, articulated under the claim “It’s very good.” In it, it reflects the social conversation that occurs around the series and films in its catalog and, specifically, presents some of the most beloved and memorable moments that captivated fans around the world. The spot features the presence of popular faces, such as Cardi B, Simone Biles and Giancarlo Esposito.
