Nathalie Picquot leaves Banco Santander after five years

Nathalie Picquot, who until now served as Global Director of Corporate Marketing, Brand Experience and Digital Engagement at Banco Santander, has left the company, as announced Dircomfidencial. She arrived at the position, then newly created, at the end of March 2021 from Twitter, of which she was General Director for Spain and Portugal.

He joins the neobank N26 as Chief Growth and Marketing Officer, a position he will officially assume on October 1, replacing Timo Meyer, as the company has indicated in a statement. The move seeks to reinforce its position as the leading digital bank in Europe and N26 highlights that Piquot’s track record in accelerating digital transformation and at the intersection of marketing, growth and international expansion will be fundamental to scaling the brand’s presence.

With Picquot’s departure, Banco Santander will reorganize the functions carried out by the board and they will be assumed by three executives from the Marketing area: Bernabé Mohedano, Director of Media and Corporate Digital Marketing; Cenk Bulbul; until now Marketing Director for the bank in the United States; and Mariana Doria, Commercial Director for Portugal; who will report to Juan Manuel Cendoya, General Director of Communication, Corporate Marketing and Studies.

Nathalie Picquot joined the financial institution’s team five years ago with the intention of promoting its digital transformation and online presence, as well as leading the bank’s corporate marketing actions, focusing above all on the company’s social networks. The motivation for his incorporation was to reinforce the digital capabilities of the entity in its objective of becoming an integrated financial services platform.

The board came to Banco Santander from Twitter, a company that led in the Spanish and Portuguese markets.

In parallel with her transition between Twitter and Banco Santander, Picquot was appointed Independent Director of Sanitas, a position she had already held at MásMovil from March 2019 to September 2020.

Picquot was also part of AdLink and DoubleClick, where she served as Business Development Director; or the advertising sales department of the International Herald Tribune.

Among other things, Nathalie Picquot served as President of the Jury of the Eficacia 2025 Awards.
