Letur, a municipality located in the Sierra del Segura (Albacete), is experiencing an emotional rebirth this Christmas after the devastating Dana which, two months ago, left deep scars in the community, including the loss of six neighbors and severe damage to homes and infrastructure.
The birth of Fran, the first baby to arrive in the municipality after the tragedy, has filled the 900 inhabitants of Letur with hope, symbolizing a new beginning for this municipality marked by adversity. “Fran has filled us with joy in such difficult times, not only for us as parents, but for all the residents of Letur. It is proof that life goes on and hope can be reborn.”says the little boy’s mother.
In the piece, the baby’s father walks him among the ruins of the areas most affected by the flood
As a tribute to this rebirth and to send a message of encouragement to all those affected by Dana, the Sra. Rushmore agency has created “Nana” under the motto #LeturRenace. In the piece, the baby’s father walks him among the ruins of the areas most affected by the flood, symbolizing the promise of a better future in the face of adversity.
The audiovisual piece is accompanied by a lullaby performed by Rozalénoriginally from Letur, who has recovered a song that her own mother sang to her during her childhood in the town.
For the Mayor of the municipality, Sergio Marín, “These days, in addition to the necessary material reconstruction, it is essential to take care of the emotional aspect. “We are showing that we are capable of rising up and we also do so thinking about the next generations.”
Almost two months after Dana, during these Christmas holidays it is important to share a message of hope and encouragement. “Dana has hit us very hard, but we are convinced that we will be reborn. As Fran’s emotional story shows, life makes its way and there are always reasons to move forward.”says Pablo Cuervo-Arango, Director of the Cantero de Letur Foundation that has promoted this project.
#LeturRenace It is, therefore, an initiative to help the people’s emotional and material recovery. This campaign, as indicated by Mrs. Rushmore, has been possible thanks to the altruistic and voluntary collaboration of Fran’s family, the Cantero de Letur and Rozalén Foundation.
