The Spanish start-up Aurax has presented in the 4yfn in Barcelona-within the frame of the Mobile World Congress-a new wireless oral controller that allows us to use the computer, mobile and tablet without hands. Is called Mouthxand is developed thinking about the needs of more than 100 million people around the world with reduced mobility.
To ensure that it meets its mission and that it adapts to the user’s needs, Aurax designs each device following the data it receives from the buyer’s oral scanning. In this way, Mouthx can offer Perfect integration with the face respecting the peculiarities of each oral morphology.
As shown, the device mechanism is encapsulated and dispensed with connectors thanks to the Wireless load. For this purpose, it has a battery with autonomy for up to eight hours of continued use, recoverable in a load time of an hour and a half.
Mouthx divides its operation into three fronts; The language, where it offers a magnetic joystick with a precision similar to that of a computer mouse; The jaw, where a mechanical button allows scroll or screenshots to be made, among nine commands; And the head, where it has a pointer that seeks perfect synchronization with your mouth. All this is covered with biocompatible resins that promise a resistance of years.

It works with Bluetooth 5.4, it is compatible with Windows, Macos, Android and iOS, and can be paired with up to three devices at the same time. The idea is that it serves both to navigate social networks, and to play video games, watch series or use Google Maps without hands.

The flexibility proposed by Mouthx has allowed us to even study its use in Controlled medical environments. So much so that the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital has started a pilot study in its facilities to evaluate the usability of the controller in people with reduced mobility.
