Rain is one of the weather conditions that most influences driving, especially in regions where heavy rainfall is part of daily life. In Malaysia, Mitsubishi has decided to use this circumstance to demonstrate one of the features of its Xforce SUV, but instead of waiting for it to rain, it has created its own cloud and installed it on the vehicle to accompany it while driving through the city.
The action, called “Xforce Roving Cloud”, consists of a Mitsubishi Xforce equipped with a structure that simulates a cloud and that drops water on the car while it moves through the streets of Kuala Lumpur and other towns in its metropolitan area. The result is an unusual scene: a vehicle driving under localized rain while the rest of the traffic continues its journey normally.

With this initiative, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia seeks to draw attention to the Wet Mode, a driving mode of the Xforce developed specifically for the heavy rain conditions common in Southeast Asia.

To carry out the intervention, the brand has incorporated an artificial cloud on the roof of the SUV, equipped with a system that releases water onto the vehicle. The installation moves next to the car and generates a small mobile storm that contrasts with the surrounding weather conditions.
The effect is especially striking in the images released by Mitsubishi, where the car can be seen crossing the streets with its own rain cloud.
“Some people check the weather forecast… We bring ours”says the company in one of the publications with which it has presented the action. In another piece, the brand recognizes the deliberately exaggerated nature of the proposal: “Yes, we have taken Wet Mode too literally.”

Wet Mode is one of the Xforce’s driving modes and, according to the company, is designed to help the driver maintain vehicle stability and control on wet surfaces. Its development responds to the particularities of Southeast Asian markets, where heavy rain and variable pavement conditions are part of the usual driving challenges.
Mitsubishi has designed “Xforce Roving Cloud” as a traveling action and the brand has published an itinerary so that citizens can learn about the places where the vehicle will circulate, including locations such as Klang, Subang Jaya and Shah Alam. This planning allows the visibility of the action to be prolonged for several days and generate anticipation about the next appearance of the car.
In addition, Mitsubishi has incorporated a contest that invites citizens to participate in disseminating the campaign. The mechanics consist of locating the Xforce accompanied by its cloud, photographing it and publishing the image on Instagram or Facebook stories, using the hashtag #XforceRovingCloud and tagging Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia. Participants must also follow brand profiles and keep their accounts public so posts can be verified.
20 winners will be selected from the entries and will receive exclusive prizes valued collectively at up to 10,000 Malaysian Ringgits.
