Pernod Ricard Spain, a company that markets brands such as Beefeater, Ballantine’s, Absolut and Ruavieja, has appointed Miguel Ángel Pascual as the new Marketing Director. The manager arrives in the Spanish market from Korea, where until now he has served as Marketing Director for the company.
Replaces Christian Seel, appointed General Director for Greece
He replaces Christian Seel, who has served as Marketing Director for Southern Europe and Spain since October 2023 and who has now been appointed General Director of Pernod Ricard Greece. Miguel Ángel Pascual will report directly to Sebastien Mouquet, General Director of Pernod Ricard Iberia, and will also be a member of the company’s Management Committee for the Iberian market.
Pascual’s objective, as explained by Pernod Ricard in a statement, will be to contribute his international experience and knowledge of the company to reinforce the strategic positioning of the group’s brands in the Spanish market. “The sector is undergoing a profound transformation that requires anticipation, innovation and excellence in execution“, commented the manager. “I assume this new stage with the commitment to contribute to business growth, reinforce the leadership of our brands and generate value for our entire ecosystem.”.
For his part, Sébastien Mouquet assures that the appointment comes at a key moment for the company. “His deep knowledge of the business, his strategic vision and his experience in building brands will be essential to continue promoting innovation, strengthening the connection with consumers and consolidating the positioning of our portfolio in an increasingly dynamic market.”, he explained.
Two decades in marketing
Miguel Ángel Pascual, with training in marketing and commercial management, has more than two decades of professional experience in the sector. He has been part of Pernod Ricard for the last thirteen years, during which he has carried out tasks of various responsibilities at an international level. In his last stage at the company, he served as Director of Marketing and Trade Marketing in Korea, promoting the growth of the brands and consolidating their positioning.
He had previously been appointed to the Marketing and Trade Marketing direction for Hong Kong and Macau and was named Global Lead for the development of the Prestige category business. He accessed this position after leading the company’s digital and communications transformation in Spain as Marketing Director – Digital & Communications. However, his first position in the company was Senior Brand Manager for Ballantine’s.
Before joining Pernod Ricard, he served for almost two years as Brand Manager for Lucky Strike at British American Tobacco; and as Brand and Product Manager at Campofrío Food Group, a position he held between 2008 and 2012.
