Manuel Mirat is the new CEO of Vocento

As the group points out, with this decision close the search process of CEO that had been undertaken in April of this year after the departure of Luis Enríquez. He assures that the process has been led by the appointments and remuneration committee with the mission of finding the right person to consolidate the group’s digital transformation and continue diversification and strengthen the publishing business.

Manuel Mirat replaces Iñaki Arechabaletawho assumed the role of CEO on an interim basis since at the end of last March Vocento communicated the departure of Luis Enríquez to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV). In this sense, it will be Mirat and not Arechabaleta, as had been speculated, who will lead the company.

Now Vocento has thanked him for his work in the transition period.

For its part, until last March, Luis Enriquez He served as CEO of Vocento for the last 13 years. Manuel Muriat: three decades in media and advertising

Manuel Mirat has training in law, tax consulting and business management and administration. He began his professional career as a lawyer in the audit firm Arthur Andersen and as Chief Financial Officer of Hurry, of which he was a part for more than ten years and where he served as CEO of Prisacom between 2004 and 2009.

He also served as General Director of Canal+and in 2014 he returned to Prisa to serve as CEO, first El País and Prisa Newsand then the entire group. As part of the company, between 2018 and 2021 he assumed the responsibilities of President of El País.

After this, in October 2022 he joined the agency Dentsu as Senior Advisor and General Manager, a position he has held until now. He combined the position with his role as Strategic Advisor on the digital audio platform Sonora and with his functions as a member of the Board of Directors of SA Mirat.
