LinkedIn has presented Hiring Assistantan assistant artificial intelligence designed to help talent selection professionals in the most repetitive and mechanical tasks of their work. As the company explains, the objective of the service is for recruiting managers to focus their capabilities on advising on hiring or connecting and creating exceptional experiences for candidates.
From the platform they point out that a large part of the work time of these professionals is dedicated to administrative tasks. Additionally, they explain that 55% of human resources professionals globally say that expectations of them are higher than ever, and 42% feel overwhelmed by the number of decisions they must make each day.
In this regard, LinkedIn assures that Hiring Assistant will help on a day-to-day basis. It will allow you to establish hiring objectives, and based on them, will automatically create candidate lists for your review, and you will identify the best ones, draft contacts or create basic questions about the position.
Likewise, it will support the management of administrative tasks, such as scheduling interviews, taking notes in meetings and follow-ups. You will also provide proactive updates and recommendations to design hiring strategies and next steps. Professionals will be able to provide feedback on candidates throughout the process, helping Hiring Assistant continually know the preferences of each recruiter.
The company explains that Hiring Assistant has been created with its own technology and combines information of more than one billion platform users, 68 million companies and 41,000 skills.
It should also be noted that LinkedIn is owned by Microsoft, which invests in and maintains a collaboration agreement with OpenAI. In this sense, LinkedIn has taken advantage of this alliance to launch tools and services based on artificial intelligence in recent months, all of them supported by OpenAI’s GPT language model.
Hiring Assistant is currently only available to a small group of LinkedIn customers, including AMD, Canva, Siemens or Zurich Insurance; although the company anticipates that the global launch will take place at the end of 2025. At the moment it is available in English, although LinkedIn will expand the languages as it develops the service.
Hiring Assistant is not the first artificial intelligence-based application launched by LinkedIn. Last year he launched Recruiter 2024a functionality to optimize the selection of qualified candidates for a position. LinkedIn clients who have been able to use this option say that it has helped them save time and interact better with talent.
In addition, the company is promoting training in artificial intelligence. It has expanded the library of LinkedIn Learning with more courses on the subject, and is expanding its AI-based coaching to help students practice human skills through interactive scenarios using text or voice.
