Concern about the impact of consumption on the environment is leading many users to look for products that pollute the least and are most efficient in terms of energy. But also those that last the longest and offer a longer useful life. To meet this demand, LG is offering “lifetime warranty” on some of your appliances.
Specifically, it offers this option on the compressor of some refrigerator models and on the motor of some washing machine models. However, it supposes a promotion, since it only applies to those products purchased between November of this year and the end of December 2025. And, for now, the company has not indicated that it intends to turn the measure into a long-term bet.
The coverage offered triples the average useful life of the product
As LG explains on its website, it offers a 30 year coverage About the piece: 3 years of legal warranty and 27 of commercial warranty. This guarantee covers the cost of the part, so other additional expenses – product diagnosis, travel and labor – are borne by the customer. This was stated by Jaime de Jaraíz, CEO and President of LG Spain, who in his recent speech at the third edition of Public Affairs Forum, cited this measure among the multinational’s sustainability proposals. Among other things, LG also recycles household appliances, innovates in the creation of more respectful products and promotes the conservation of natural spaces through Smart Green program.
The guarantee, as stated by Miguel Ángel Fernández, General Director of Marketing of LG Spain, in a statement, is proof of the confidence you have in the technology you develop. “At LG, innovation is not an end in itself, but a means to offer the most durable, efficient and sustainable products that improve people’s lives, as affirmed by our Life’s Good philosophy.”, he expressed.
Other LG sustainability efforts
As LG has pointed out, the manufacturer has been working for decades to improve durability and efficiency. Thus, before this measure, it already offered 10-year warranties for some models of washing machine motors and refrigerator compressors, which it later extended to 20 years. Now it extends them to 30 years.
The company also indicates that the initiative responds to the demand of its customers. According to data from its technical service and customer care, those who have purchased brand appliances choose repair compared to substitution 3 out of 4 times.
They point out, in this regard, that only 0.2% of incidents are related to the engine’s Direct Drive technology, which would demonstrate the brand’s effort to offer the most durable products.
He also took advantage of the occasion to point out other commitments and services. When customers choose to replace their appliance, LG takes care of their removal and recycling, and assures that in our country it sends about 3.8 tons of washing machines and refrigerators to the waste management center every month.
Likewise, LG has indicated that the new warranty option is aligned with the regulatory changes that are taking place in the European Union. Specifically with the “Right to Repair”, with which the community organization seeks to promote repair rather than replacement as a formula to reduce consumption and electronic waste.
