Maintaining an ongoing relationship with professionals, connecting talent with new opportunities or streamlining operational tasks are some of the advantages that Leroy Merlin claims to have found in CLARA, an artificial intelligence tool that is allowing him to get more out of his personnel selection database and, therefore, improve the operation of the human resources area.
This is an agent that facilitates the recovery of contact with candidates who had previously shown interest in being part of the company, as well as updating their professional information and identifying job opportunities in line with their profiles and preferences.
CLARA establishes voice conversations with candidates to update their information
As detailed, CLARA establishes voice conversations with candidates to immediately update information about their location, training, experience and professional interests, and identify possible opportunities. When a professional shows interest in an open vacancy, the tool transfers their profile to the Attraction and Talent team, which is in charge of evaluating the candidacy, managing their possible incorporation into the selection process and accompanying them in the following phases.
The project started in the pilot phase in June and since then has allowed more than 2,000 profiles to be reactivated. Of them, 1,000 have expressed interest in open vacancies and 293 candidates have been incorporated into new selection processes. The tool has also registered a contact rate of 60% and a satisfaction rating of 9 out of 10.
The company assures that the tool addresses one of the main challenges of attracting talent, which is maintaining a relationship with candidates beyond a specific vacancy, but without giving up the human factor. “We are convinced that AI does not replace judgment or human support, but rather allows our teams to dedicate more time to what really adds value: getting to know the candidates, listening to their expectations and accompanying them in their professional development.”, commented Virginia Sánchez, Talent Attraction and Acquisition Manager at Leroy Merlin Spain.
In this sense, Leroy Merlin’s application of AI does not present technology as a tool to replace interviews or decide hiring, but rather as a system to manage information and opportunities that could go untapped. This revalues candidate databases beyond storing resumes to cover immediate needs, so that the company can use them to maintain long-term relationships.
CLARA is part of the company’s talent attraction and loyalty strategy and its Human First philosophy. that works to place people at the center of business transformation. This vision, in turn, is embodied in “Like at Home”, its employee value proposition (EVP), focused on creating a close and trusting environment that favors professional development and growth.
