The communications agency Trescom, founded in 2009 and with a presence in Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon, begins a new stage of business, with new shareholders and under new leadership. Iñaki Ortega, until now General Director of the LLYC office in Madrid, joins as CEO and main shareholder and investor.
Trescom seeks to consolidate its position in the Spanish market as an independent consulting firm, and to do so it will focus on its business dimension, strengthening its commercial capacity and placing its service offering at a new level of competitiveness. At the same time, he will continue to build on his 17 years of experience in corporate affairs, marketing, branding, brand experiences, and crisis or reputation management.
Ortega heads the new core shareholding of Trescom
Iñaki Ortega will be in charge of achieving the objective together with Alberto Corcóstegui, who also joins the company’s shareholders and assumes the position of CFO. For her part, Isabel Lozano will continue as Partner, Founder and President; and Miriam Sarralde as General Director -now with a new package of shares-.
In this sense, and as Trescom explained in a statement, the company’s shareholders are configured with a hard core shareholder led by Ortega, Corcóstegui, Lozano, Sarralde and Florita Vallcaneras, complemented by several financial investors.
Ortega assures that in this new stage he will contribute his experience to open new business opportunities and accompany clients in the face of current challenges. “Trescom has an extraordinarily solid foundation, top-level talent and an impeccable reputation built alongside leading brands in their respective sectors.“, he commented in a statement. “Our incorporation as reference shareholders responds to the shared ambition of making this company grow.”.
For the founder of Trescom, it marks the beginning of an exciting stage and the addition of new capabilities that will strengthen the service portfolio. “The new ownership as well as the new governance gives us a high-value profile in Corporate Communication and Public Affairs, reinforcing our competitiveness without losing the closeness, creativity and essence that have brought us here”, he stated in the statement.
A career in management and entrepreneurship
For Ortega, the movement represents the closing of a five-year stage at LLYC, which he announced a few days ago through a publication on social networks in which he remembered José Antonio Llorente Herrero, who was Founder and Executive President of LLYC until his death in 2023. “It made me begin to consider leaving university management and even politics, as I discovered a different way of serving institutions: communication, marketing and public affairs.”, he commented, also remembering other members of the team.
Iñaki Ortega has served as General Director of LLYC’s Madrid office for the last three years, but joined the company in 2021 to lead Executive, the management education unit.
With training in economics and entrepreneurship, the manager has developed most of his professional career in the teaching field, working as a professor in educational institutions such as the Marketing Institute or the University of the Basque Country, the Rey Juan Carlos University, the International University of La Rioja or CUNEF. He has also served as Director of the Madrid headquarters of Deusto Business School and Academic Director of CEOE-Campus.
On the other hand, he has also developed his career linked to entrepreneurship, as General Director of the Madrid Emprende program or partner of the venture capital firm Emprendiza; and to brands, as Advisory Councilor of the Ageingnomics Research Center at Fundación Mapfre.
He has also been linked to politics, since he served as a deputy in the Basque Parliament between 1998 and 2005.
