Ikea Home, a new app to hire home services such as plumbing or electricity

Ikea has announced the launch of “IKEA Home”a platform to connect consumers with home services companies and professionals.

It is a mobile application, available for iOS and Android, which has initially been launched only in the Madrid market as a pilot phase. Includes more than 30 services grouped into 9 categories: air conditioning, painting, floor installation, electricity, lighting, plumbing, aluminum and PVC carpentry, tiling and carpentry, with the intention of continuing to expand them in the coming weeks.

“On Home Day, needs may arise to whose solution we want to contribute”

As the company explains in a statement, this is a pilot project with which it seeks to innovate and continue developing formulas that help consumers improve their experience and life at home. “We know that, beyond the services we offer at Ikea, and that they are an essential part of our business, in the day-to-day life at home different needs may arise to whose solution we want to contribute”has highlighted Laura DuranDirector of Business Development and Sustainability at Ikea IKEA Spain.

The pilot will end at the end of January, a date from which the company will evaluate its operation and learnings and decide next steps, which may include its future activation in other cities and countries.

It is not the first time that Spain is a global pilot for Ikea. It has been the case in other projects related to sustainability and also to business, with innovative contact point formats, locating in Madrid one of the five digital offices that the group has in the world or, more recently, with Ikea Preowned.
