He Granada CF has launched its subscribers campaign for the 2025/2026 season under the title “The key and hand”a proposal that converts an ancient legend of the city into a brand story to explain, and try to fight, the sports ghosts that have marked the last years of the club.

The campaign has been devised by the Phenomenal Agency, with the production of Albayzín Producciones, direction of the filmmaker Granadina Melania Van and phrase of actor Antonio Velázquez, also a native of Granada.

The legend of the Puerta de la Justicia is one of the best known in the city

The starting point is the LEGEND OF THE DOOR OF JUSTICEone of the best known in the city. At this door of the Alhambra, the symbols of one hand and a key are recorded, one on top of the other. According to tradition, when the hand touches the key, the kingdom of Granada will fall and the end of the world will begin. The campaign appropriates this myth to talk about “the curse of Granada CF”, not in a literal sense, but as a symbolic construction of An emotional narrative which explains the sequence of recent misfortunes that the rojiblanca fans have lived.

“As Granada, the key and hand is a story that has fascinated me since childhood”explains David Titos, creative director in Phenomenal. “It’s amazing that one of the most beautiful places in the world can keep such a dark curse. We feel that Granada CF also had its own, and we had to tell it.”

The campaign states that, like the city, The club also drags its own cursea kind of invisible weight that has tarnished its achievements and aggravated its falls: endless gusts of defeats, the historical classification to Europe without being able to play with public for the pandemic, and this last season, the elimination in the discount that frustrated the promotion to Primera. However, the background message is not pessimistic: the Granada fans do not believe in superstitions and is willing to break any curse based on commitment and loyalty.

The spot travels emblematic enclaves Like the Alhambra, the Sacromonte or the Vega of Granada, and has a narrative voice that represents that curse, whispering resignation and defeat. With a vibrant and visually powerful tone, the piece transforms sports suffering into a story of cultural and emotional resistance. Thus, the club does not dodge its recent past, but assumes it, names it and puts it as part of the character of its fans.

With this campaign, the Granada CF activates an identity story that transcends sports and aligns with a growing trend in the Club marketing: The appropriation of folklore, history and local culture to build brand, connect with the territory and emotionally mobilize the community.

“The key and hand” will have executions for digital, social networks, exterior and the club’s own media collection and renewal of fertilizers.
