Ogilvy Spain has announced through a press release that its President, Cristina Barbosahas left the agency with immediate effect, thus separating their professional paths.
Barbosa came to the position replacing Alfonso Marian in May 2022, after seven years serving as Brand Director at Vodafone Spain and with the aim of strengthen agency capacity to offer creative, technological and data-driven solutions, as reported at the time. Now, as expressed in the statement, “Ogilvy and Cristina Barbosa have parted ways and Cristina has left the agency effective immediately. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
For the time being, the position of president will not be replaced and, instead, Ogilvy Spain will now be jointly managed by Marta GutierrezVice President and CEO of Ogilvy Madrid, and Jordi UrbeaVice President and CEO of Ogilvy Barcelona. Both will report to Ogilvy EMEA CEO Patou Nuytemans.
It should be noted that the statement refers to “the expert and capable hands of Jordi and Marta” to take the reins of the agency from here.
