In recent years, consumers have developed a growing interest in national tourism and also in sustainability. Combining both trends, Cupra and Airbnb have launched a collaborative action with which they invite Spanish citizens to discover the territory through more conscious trips.

Brands have created three weekend experiences for users, especially millennials, to explore different places in Spain. Thus, they have hidden three exclusive getaways among the accommodations hosted on the Airbnb platform. These experiences are identified because the spaces available for rent show a Cupra Tacascan car in their photographs.

The brands offer clues to find the cars between the accommodations

Cupra has hidden three units of its new Tavascan in three Airbnb hosts’ homes in Spain“, they explain from Airbnb. “If you follow all the clues correctly and manage to find them within the platform, you will have the opportunity to request a reservation and travel with one of these Cupra during a unique weekend, accompanied by your family and in a rural destination.”.

The brands point out that the cars will be identified at a glance in the advertisement for each accommodation. Furthermore, as they point out, they offer a series of clues. For example, to enjoy the home that Marta offers, the “Charger for electric cars” filter and check “Home” when selecting the property type. Users should also look at stone houses located in northern mountainous areas surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes; and remember that the name of the town where the accommodation is located rhymes with the words: mask, bird, camera and bavara.

The three experiences can be book from November 6 at 3:00 p.m., at a price of €0 per night (plus fees and taxes) and, thus, enjoy a family stay with car included. The three experiences will take place between November 22 and 24, 2024.

As the companies explain in the conditions of the initiative, once the reservation has been made and confirmed, the host will facilitate contact with the Cupra logistics team to agree on the day, time and place for the delivery and return of the car that can be tested during the weekend.

Proximity tourism and electric mobility

Thanks to this collaboration with Airbnb, we encourage people to discover the authenticity of rural Spain in an efficient and sustainable way“said Ignasi Casanovas, Marketing Director of Cupra Spain, in a statement. “In addition, Cupra has provided that all these accommodations have an electric charging point, which will allow travelers to not only enjoy their stay, but also travel kilometers with the fun and safety that the Cupra Tavascan provides.”.

The initiative, on the one hand, encourages and promotes the products of electric mobility of Cupra, and on the other, the weekend accommodations in proximity destinations through Airbnb. From the platform they point out that in the last five years the nights reserved in this type of stays within a radius of 480 kilometers have grown by 27%.

According to data offered by both brands on the occasion of the activation, 56% of millennials plan to use the car even more to travel in 2025. In addition, 50% take the environmental impact into account in their travel decisions, and 30 % are already considering using more efficient vehicles, such as hybrids or 100% electric.

They also point out that the possibility of having control over the itinerary, choosing your own alternative routes (44%) and the ability to carry luggage without restrictions (39%) are two of the main reasons why the car has once again won in popularity.
