Buy fresh fruit by pressing a button in a vending machine. Bollo Natural Fruit wants to take fruit consumption to new times and places and has presented a new line developed specifically for the vending channel at Fruit Attraction 2026.
The proposal represents another step in the company’s channel diversification strategy and expands the range of ready-to-eat fresh fruit that Bollo announced in the previous edition of the fair. Now it adapts the product to the particularities of vending machines with its own format and with the intention of being present in spaces such as companies and work centers, hospitals, schools, universities, airports, stations and other transportation centers.
Vending tries to expand its offer beyond the products associated with this channel
The movement also occurs at a time when vending is trying to expand its offer beyond the products traditionally associated with this channel. Fresh fruit poses specific difficulties due to its perishable nature, the need for rotation and storage conditions, but it also offers brands the possibility of being present at moments of consumption far from the supermarket or home.
Melon, pineapple and watermelon to buy in a machine
Bollo’s new range starts with melon, pineapple and watermelon, and the company plans to soon add mango and persimmon. The offer also includes combinations such as melon and blueberry or cantaloupe melon and Piel de Sapo, and work is already underway on new references based on fruits that are gaining presence among consumer preferences.
The products are presented in a container developed specifically for this proposal, with a capacity of between 170 and 200 grams, depending on the reference. According to the company, the solution allows the organoleptic conditions and freshness of the fruit to be preserved without using additives or preservatives.
“More and more people are looking for healthy options that adapt to their pace of life. With this new line we bring all the quality, flavor and freshness of our fruit to a channel with enormous growth potential such as vending”explains Antonio Alarcón, CEO of Bollo Natural Fruit. The manager summarizes the objective with an idea especially linked to the operation of the channel: “We want to make enjoying a piece of premium fruit as easy and accessible as pressing a button.”
Fruit seeks new points of contact with the consumer
Bollo’s movement connects with a trend that other fruit brands have begun to explore: increasing the accessibility of the product by taking it to channels and moments in which other food categories have historically predominated.
A recent example is Plátano de Canarias, which in 2025, together with Tareca, launched a pilot project to incorporate bananas into vending machines in three schools and institutes in Valencia. In that case, the objective was to analyze the response of young people when the fruit was available at the same point of sale as other products for immediate consumption.

The initiative was based on the idea that accessibility constitutes one of the barriers to increasing fruit consumption. “If we want to increase fruit consumption we have to increase contacts with consumers where they are exposed to food purchases”then explained Sergio Cáceres, Marketing and Communication Director of Plátano de Canarias.
Bollo’s proposal expands that approach with a product specifically prepared for the channel. Compared to the marketing of the whole piece, it allows you to offer fruit already cut and ready to consume, bringing your experience closer to that of other snacks usually available in machines in offices and hospitals, universities or transport nodes.
The company, which markets the Bollo and Bruñó brands, has a presence in categories such as lemon, orange, clementine, grapefruit, melon, watermelon and, more recently, pineapple. With the new proposal presented at Fruit Attraction, it seeks to ensure that part of this product can also be found outside the traditional shelf and in situations where the choice of a snack depends, to a large extent, on what is available at that moment.
