He Atlético de Madrid has launched different actions since last October 29 as a result of the floods and damage caused by dana in the Valencian Community and Castilla La Mancha.
One of these initiatives has been the fundraising for Red Cross through a specific website, a campaign in which he has encouraged his followers and fans to participate.
The Atlético de Madrid Foundation has collected material at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano
It has also converted its stadium, the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, into a material delivery point. On Sunday, November 3, starting at 11 a.m., both fans and citizens have been able to make their contributions of essential items and products.
As the Madrid team shared today through their social networks, they have collected 55 tons of material. They are being transported in six trucks, the first team bus and a minibus from Fundación Atlético de Madrid to Utiel and Paiporta. The material will be distributed by volunteers from the foundation in coordination with local authorities, and they will also offer themselves for cleaning and collection tasks.
On the other hand, the Madrid club has made a first initial financial donation – of which it has not shared the amount – to the Red Cross, and has committed to make a second contribution equivalent to the value of the material essential items that have been donated at the stadium.
Likewise, over the last few days, Atlético de Madrid has made various acts of remembrance and respect in tribute to the victims of the disaster and those affected. Among other things, the club’s flag has flown at half-mast, minutes of silence have been held during matches played and friendly fans have been remembered.
