Home Goods has decided to take some of the objects that could be found in its stores to the streets of Chicago, although considerably altering their proportions. The American chain has installed a series of large-scale reproductions of home products in Pioneer Court as part of a new activation developed together with the Fallon agency.

The experience will be available for a week and seeks to transfer to public spaces the character of discovery that the company wants to associate with a visit to its establishments. Everyday objects thus acquire unexpected dimensions to attract the attention of passers-by, generate opportunities for interaction and photography and expand contact with the brand beyond the point of sale.

The initiative is part of “Never Shop the Same”, Home Goods’ communication platform that focuses on the variety of products, styles and options available in its stores and on the idea that each visit can offer different finds.

The proposal is not limited to the spectacular nature of the pieces. Home Goods has incorporated its characteristic product labels into the facilities, also reinterpreted for the occasion. In the place that would normally be occupied by the barcode, a QR code appears that allows you to continue the experience from your mobile phone.

Scanning it takes visitors to a Home Goods page and can get a $5 discount code for a Lyft ride to a nearby Home Goods store. Activation also includes the possibility of receiving a bag tote from Home Goods.

The action developed by Fallon represents a commitment to experiential marketing as a tool to generate a face-to-face relationship with consumers. Home Goods combines the visual capacity of large-format installations with simple digital mechanics and an incentive that extends the journey to the point of sale, making the activation also work as a tool to generate traffic to the stores.
