“Do Not Disturb” is probably one of the most recognizable messages in the hospitality industry. Sofitel and Nespresso have decided to turn it around and ask for precisely the opposite. Under the “Please Disturb” concept, both brands have created a dining experience that invites guests to request a knock on their door to enjoy a combination of coffee and croissant in their room.
The collaboration will be active between September 1 and November 26, 2026 in 20 Sofitel hotels in different markets and constitutes a new edition of La Haute Croissanteriethe gastronomic platform with which the hotel chain explores the croissant from the French technique and the particularities of different destinations.
The project thus unites Nespresso’s experience around coffee with the work of Sofitel’s pastry chefs to reinterpret one of the most recognizable associations of French gastronomy: coffee accompanied by a croissant. But the proposal seeks to go beyond serving both products together and proposes each combination based on flavors, aromas, textures and temperatures.
The hotel ritual itself functions as a gateway to the experience. Sofitel and Nespresso have created a specific hanger for the door that symbolically replaces the usual “Do Not Disturb” with “Please Disturb” and allows you to request the gastronomic proposal to receive it directly in the room.
The collaboration offers three combinations:
- Le Brûlé unites a Cappuccino Mousse Brûlée with a Crispy Honey Cream Croissant. Almond and orange appear in both preparations, while the toasted finish of the cappuccino accompanies the honey and the golden layers of the croissant.
- L’Épicé combines a spiced chocolate coffee with oat milk and a Coffee-Choco Exotic Croissant. The proposal works on the association between coffee and dark chocolate, incorporating passion fruit and Sichuan pepper to add acidity and a touch of spice.
- Le Tonique offers an Iced Orange Espresso Tonic with a Paris-Brest Croissant. The praline and toasted hazelnuts of the pastry piece combine with the bitterness of the tonic, orange blossom and fresh orange zest of the drink.
Each service also incorporates a last gesture made in the room itself. Depending on the combination chosen, it can consist of caramelizing sugar, applying an aromatic citrus mist or grating dark chocolate and Sichuan pepper. The glassware and presentation have also been developed specifically as part of the experience.
“Collaborating with Nespresso on this limited edition has allowed us to elevate one of the most characteristic combinations of gastronomy, the inimitable coffee-croissant, towards a truly harmonious moment”explains Anne-Cécile Degenne, Corporate Executive Chef at Sofitel Hotels & Resorts. The chef points out that the joint work between the Sofitel pastry chefs and the Nespresso coffee specialists has allowed us to propose “a new expression of French art de vivre” to enjoy in the privacy of the room. The final gesture of the service, adds, introduces “Theatricality and style” and seeks to make each element personal.
On behalf of Nespresso, Sacha Wittorski, a coffee and mixology specialist, highlights the role that this drink plays throughout a guest’s stay and points out that the collaboration has made it possible to approach a traditional combination from a sensory perspective. “Under our ‘Please Disturb’ concept, guests will be able to enjoy truly unique creations, born from the passion and craftsmanship shared by Sofitel and Nespresso”he explains.
The initiative also deepens a relationship between the two companies that is already present at different times in Sofitel’s hotel experience. Nespresso machines are used in rooms as well as in bars and event spaces of some of the chain’s establishments, adapting coffee consumption to the context of each room.
Thus, the collaboration works on assets that are already part of the hotel imaginary and infrastructure – the sign on the door, the room service or the coffee maker – to build a customer experience around them.
The initiative will reach establishments in London, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Seoul, Mexico City, Riyadh, Marrakech, Dubai, Singapore, Montreal, Paris, Sydney and Brisbane, among other cities. In Spain it can be enjoyed at the Sofitel Barcelona Skipper.
