Microphones have become a recurring element of social media codes. It is common to see them gain prominence in the videos of influencers and content creators, so much so that they are now understood as a visual identity accessory or even as advertising support, as Miu Miu demonstrated last year. Following this line, Chupa Chups Brasil has proposed its own, inspired by its popular candy.

Together with the creative agency VML Brasil, the Perfetti Van Melle brand has presented Lollipop Mic, a small microphone with the same shape as lollipops and designed specifically for creators. The sphere that the candy would occupy hides the electronic components of the device, and includes a button to start recording and a USB port; while the stick offers a light holding system.

Chupa Chups has been inspired by the recent trend that uses everyday objects as supports for lavalier microphones. Forks, spoons, bottles or even public transport tickets can be seen as holding devices. And the fact is that microphones are no longer exclusively linked to audio and a functional facet, but have become an aesthetic element that must be integrated into the narrative proposal and the personality of the creator.

As explained by the brand and the agency, this particular microphone is not for sale but will be sent to selected influencers associated with the brand so that they can use it spontaneously in interviews, event coverage and content for social networks. “We took one of the most iconic objects and made it much more fun”, they have pointed out from the brand on social networks.

The creation demonstrates the way in which Chupa Chups reinvents itself and works on its brand relevance in the new digital economy, but without losing sight of those assets on which it has built its history and that make it recognizable. In addition, the brand enhances its online presence by crossing the borders of the mere placement of its product by turning it into one of the main work and daily tools of creators.
