Santander is the most valuable Spanish brand, Supercor the one that is growing the most and Mercadona the strongest, according to Brand Finance

Santander, Zara and BBVA lead the list of the most valuable Spanish brands, according to the “Spain 100 2026” report prepared by Brand Finance. However, Supercor, a supermarket chain belonging to El Corte Inglés, is the one that has recorded the greatest growth in the last year; while Mercadona stands out as the strongest brand.

The value of the 100 most valuable Spanish brands reaches 143.7 billion euros

The consulting firm’s study, which annually analyzes more than the 6,000 most important brands in the world in all sectors and countries, indicates that the combined value of the most valuable Spanish brands has continued to grow during the last year. Thus, it points out that the total value of the ranking has increased by 9% and stands at 143.7 billion euros.
The data extends the positive trend, since in 2025 the value of the list stood at 132.2 billion euros thanks to an increase of 4.5% compared to the previous year.

This is due, as the company explains in its report, to several factors. Among them, a favorable macroeconomic environment within Europe, the international competitiveness of brands or resilient domestic demand, which has been supported by an increase in salaries that has favored household spending. This has generated resistance to the geopolitical uncertainties of the current market.

The 10 most valuable Spanish brands

As Brand Finance already announced at the beginning of this year when publishing the Global 500 ranking, Santander is the most valuable Spanish brand in the world, and consequently, it is also the most valuable brand in Spain. It repeats its position with respect to 2025, but increases its value by 23%, giving it a valuation of 24.2 billion euros.

The growth is due to the achievement of record financial results last year, the increase in net profit and the incorporation of new clients.
The figure is higher than that given by Kantar in its Brand Z report, which places the bank in third position on the list of the 30 most valuable Spanish brands, with a valuation of 16,589 million dollars (14,400 million euros).

Zara only increases its value by 1% compared to the previous year

Zara also repeats itself in second place, with just an increase in its value of 1%, which places its valuation at 16.4 billion euros. The consulting firm points out that the brand’s profitability remained solid, although Zara’s share of Inditex’s income fell as a result of the better relative performance of other brands. On the other hand, Kantar places Zara as the most valuable Spanish brand in its BrandZ 2026 ranking.

In third position is BBVA once again, whose brand value grows by 58%, leading the greatest growth in the top 10. Its valuation reaches 13.1 billion euros. The positive performance is attributed to record financial results, improved profitability and digital leadership.

The rest of the list remains similar to the previous edition. It is worth noting the fall of Movistar from fourth to sixth place based on a loss of -16% of its value, which on this occasion stands at 6.5 billion euros. In contrast, Caixabank climbs positions from fifth to fourth place, with an increase of 18% that raises its valuation to 7,600 million; and Mercadona rises from sixth to fifth position, thanks to a 22% increase that places its valuation at 7.3 billion.

Iberdrola also loses -1% of its value, which this time is 5.1 billion euros, as does El Corte Inglés, which maintains tenth position despite a -3% drop in its valuation, which stands at 3.6 billion euros.

Beyond the first ten positions on the list, Brand Finance highlights the growth of Supercor, which increases its brand value by 108% to 212 million euros. He assures that it is due to a deliberate strategic repositioning within the El Corte Inglés portfolio and a shift towards the premium segment.

The report also places Moeve as a “brand to watch.” The energy company, formerly Cepsa, has increased its brand value by 4% to 1.4 billion euros.

The strongest Spanish brands

Regarding brand strength, the Brand Finance report gives first position to Mercadona and a score of 93.12/100 in its Brand Strength Index (BSI). The consulting firm explains leadership based on a high level of consumer knowledge, a strong purchasing preference and customer loyalty.

Mahou occupies second place, with a score of 90.8 that benefits from high familiarity, a solid reputation and a deep emotional connection worked through sponsorships, differential marketing and product innovation.
Its valuation has grown by 13% in the last year and rises to 812 million euros.

The podium is closed by BBVA with a score of 90.1, which has been driven by digital transformation, or the improvement of its ESG credentials. This, added to other factors, has contributed to the improvement of trust, relevance and customer engagement.

In addition, the consulting firm highlights Estrella Galicia as the strongest Spanish brand at a local level, with a score of 97.7/100 based on data from market research carried out by Brand Finance in Spain, without considering data from other countries investigated, with the highest scores in reputation and recommendation.
Mercadona and Iberdrola follow.
