Under the “Oven 24/7” concept, Domino’s Pizza has launched its first vending machines in Spain, which offer pizzas baked in three minutes 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is a complementary format to its network of restaurants and with which it aims to expand its availability and consumer access to its product.
As the brand, operated by the Alsea group in our country, explains, the “24/7 Oven” works as a direct extension of the Domino’s stores, since the pizzas are made in a local bakery following the same recipes, processes and quality standards as the physical establishments. However, the pizza is baked in the machine itself at the time of purchase, which allows us to offer a freshly made pizza in less than three minutes at a temperature above 80 °C and in compliance with food safety controls and standards.
The brand ensures that the format maintains the product experience and food safety standards
The brand ensures that this sales format maintains the product experience in accordance with its usual standards, a pizza with the same flavor and freshness that consumers would find in any Domino’s store. The catalog of machines includes what, according to the company, are the consumer’s favorite references, such as the iconic 4 Cheese, Carnal Sin, Ham and Cheese and Barbecue pizzas.
At the moment, Domino’s Pizza has deployed two vending machines, both in the Community of Madrid: one of them is located at a Moeve service station in Carabanchel (Av. de los Poblados, 118) and another at a Ballenoil service station in Pozuelo (M-515, KM 2). According to the brand, the two openings consolidate its presence in the region and strengthen its integrated sales model.
In addition, the machines would be integrated into Uber Eats, allowing the chain to extend the coverage and scope of its service to new moments of consumption, especially those linked to early morning or early morning hours and that are outside the stores’ usual hours.
“With the “Oven 24/7” we take the Domino’s experience to places and moments where we did not reach befores”; commented Jesús Navarro, General Director of Domino’s Pizza in Spain. “We are talking about a new way of bringing the brand closer to our customers, with a format that adapts to their needs and allows them to enjoy our freshly baked pizzas with the highest quality, like in any of our stores.“.
Domino’s Pizza assures that the deployment of vending is part of a strategic diversification project to amplify its sales ecosystem and open new growth opportunities in the Spanish market. The new machines will serve to expand its presence and capillarity, as well as to respond to the demands of an increasingly dynamic consumer.
However, this is not the first pizza vending machine to be installed in Madrid or Spain, as this format has spread over the years. But it does represent one of the first explorations of the formula for one of the large pizza chains in our country. Domino’s Pizza’s commitment involves a transfer to Spain of the machines tested by the chain in Lyon, France, in 2023.
