This Tuesday, December 2, 2025, the Compagnie des Alpes group announced a project that will change the history of Parc Astérix: for the first time, the franchise will be exported outside of France, to Germany.
Compagnie des Alpes, owner of Parc Astérix, today revealed that it wants to transform the German Belantis park into a new Parc Astérix. A project marking the first establishment of the franchise outside France.
The Belantis site, future Asterix
Belantis, located in the region of Leipzigwas acquired by Compagnie des Alpes in April 2025. The park was inaugurated in 2003 and is well established. He understands 27 attractions spread over 9 themed areasas well as shops And food points. Its 2024 turnover amounted to approximately 11 million euros. Belantis was chosen for several reasons. First, its location: close to big cities like Berlin or Dresden, and easily accessible from the road via the highway. Then, the park extends over more than 80 hectares. 41 hectares are available for future developmentswhich offers enormous potential to host a major theme park.
Furthermore, Germany is a fertile ground for the Asterix universe: this is the second world market for Asterix comics just behind France, and the country is also one of the major European markets for leisure parks. On the business side, the time is right. Parc Astérix in France has just completed a record 2024-2025 season (nearly 3 million visitors) and the group validated an investment plan of 250 million euros by 2030 to strengthen its position in Europe.

What will this German Parc Astérix look like?
The start will be gradual. From spring 2026 (normally in March), a first zone dedicated to IdefixObélix’s faithful companion, will be inaugurated. This family zone will clearly aim at audience of young children and families. Beyond that, the plans still remain partly imaginary, but already exciting. Theories suggest the possibility of rework the entrance to the park into a hall reminiscent of Julius Caesar’s palaceor to adapt certain existing areas to Asterix universes (Gallic village, ancient or medieval settings, etc.).

In terms of objectives, the Compagnie des Alpes evokes a potential of almost 900,000 visitors per year for the future park. A modest figure compared to the 3 million visitors on average to the French park. But sufficiently ambitious, anchoring Belantis in the German tourist landscape.
