Xbox game console controllers can no longer only be worn in your hands, but also on your feet. And the Microsoft brand has joined forces with the footwear company Crocs to design a limited edition of clogs inspired by the Xbox universe and its video games.
The exclusive collection combines the comfort of Crocs shoes with the buttons and joysticks of the Xbox game console controller. The gaming brand assures that it is about “perfect shoe to play cooperative mode from home and relax”.
The clogs come in black, like the original color of the first Xbox game consoles, and feature details in the same colors as the controllers. Thus, they include the classic X, Y, B and A buttons, the D-pad, the left and right analog sticks, and even a white Xbox button and side protectors. The Xbox logo also appears on the ankle strap hinges.
In addition, this limited edition of Crocs includes a pack of 5 Xbox + Jibbitz charms, as the footwear brand’s ornaments and accessories are called, inspired by favorite video game characters and icons such as “Halo”, “Fallout”, “Doom”, “World of Warcraft” and “Sea of Thieves”.
The collection is available in the US market starting at $80 per pair, plus $20 for the charm pack.
“No matter how you play or where your vacation plans take you, the iconic Xbox controller-inspired clog will accompany you every step of the fun.“, they point out from Xbox regarding footwear.
The cobranding between Xbox and Crocs is part of the celebration of 20 years since the launch of the Xbox 360, the brand’s second video game console.
In addition, the collection follows in the footsteps of the one launched at the beginning of October between Crocs and Microsoft to celebrate its 50 years, inspired by the launch of the Windows XP system. Among other things, this limited edition was characterized by nostalgic references to the computing of the time, such as Jibbitz in the shape of the assistant Clippy or a backpack inspired by “Bliss”, the iconic green hill-shaped wallpaper of Windows XP.
